I haven't talked about Heroes much this season, mostly because I didn't catch up with it until a few weeks ago. I...still don't have a lot to say, ( except that )

I've been watching tons of 80s movies lately, and rarely do I find one that I don't want to make into a bandom AU. I've especially been enjoying the Midnight Run AU in my head, where Frank is a bail bondsman who works for Brian, and he has to track down bail jumper!Gerard, and then a series of unfortunate events sends them on a faily roadtrip back to where Gerard's wanted, complete with hating each other at first! And then lots of UST! And cameos by Bob the rival bondsman trying to steal Gerard away! And car chases and shootouts and FBI agents and angst when Frank realizes he likes Gerard a lot but still has to turn him in. ;__; And probably a happy ending because usually that's how my daydreams roll.

Also, is there a Princess Bride bandom AU somewhere? Because there really, really should be.

This is such a cute video. It's this guy that films himself dancing for a hundred days to a hundred different songs, and he's just so effing adorable and at one point he wears a shirt with a giant kitten face on it. :D

rhombal called me from the empires show last night and I heard Under the Bright Lights, which is so very much my favorite song of theirs right now, as evidenced by my current journal name. HOW DOES SHE DO IT. Be so awesome, that is. ILU.

I've also decided that the thing I need most in my life right now is Rahm Emanuel bandom crossover fic. Somebody, please. It needs to be done.

Speaking of Rahm, this commentfic where Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens discuss Rahm? Is definitely one of my favorite things ever. More fictional characters need to discuss/interact with Rahm.

Everybody should probably sign up for sosodirty, a bandom kink fic and art challenge. There's a huge list of kinks and I sort of want to see almost all of them written. KINK. You know you want to.

I was in such a bad mood tonight that I had to start writing loan shark!au fic. Probably not the best use of my time, but writing about Frank gleefully beating the shit out of people cheered me right up.

Anybody feel like looking over a fic for me? It's bandom (haha, of course), Pete/Patrick, definitely some underage Patrick. I mostly need someone to check for errors and tell me if it's good or needs to be fleshed out more, bounce around an idea or two.

I also maybe have a Black Donnellys fic or two that might need looking over in the next day or two. >.> If anyone's interested.

1) make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (that way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)

2) ask your flist to post questions in the comments.

for example: 'one, nine and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. do they succeed?'
'under what circumstances might five and seven fall in love?'
'which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?'
'write a drabble in which three and five fight crime.' (...possibly not technically a question.)

3) after your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.

I think those of you who would be interested have probably already seen this, but there's a mixtape available for download at FOE. FOB/Panic/TAI/etc. demos, snippets, and so forth. I haven't had a chance to listen to it all the way through, but Cobra Starship's "I Kissed A Boy" kind of makes me happy to be living in this awesome world that has Gabe Saporta in it.

And it's a good thing I had that kind of happiness on my side, because I found these pictures of Frank Iero, and my heart kind of broke.

ETA: I also think this increases his resemblance to Jake Gyllenhaal. Especially older Jake Gyllenhaal in Brokeback Mountain. Just sayin'.

I just got done moaning about how terrible it is to live in Iowa, but today I'm thanking my lucky stars. I heard that the invasion started on one of the coasts early today, so we had time to fortify our house and stockpile goods. It's a good thing I got my brother The Zombie Survival Guide for his birthday. Never thought we'd actually need it. Now we're just waiting to see if we can make it through the night.

In...what I would like to call better news, but am realistically inclined to call as bad if not worse, there's a trailer for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe. I don't even know whether to call it an upside or a downside that both Corey Feldman and Corey Haim are in it. I'm tentatively calling it an upside that Kiefer Sutherland's little brother Angus Sutherland is in it. He looks...a little bit like Kiefer. But even looking a little bit like Kiefer Sutherland is a good thing. In case you've forgotten how insanely attractive Kiefer is, ( let me remind you. )

There's a new book club-type community open, bookring. It's the first one I've joined, and I am super psyched about maybe cracking open a book or two this summer and having people to discuss it with. I was going to say it'll be good for me to spend time reading away from the computer, but there's every chance I'll be reading the books in e-book format. :D

Does anyone on my flist watch Reaper? I haven't discussed it much this season because I thought it kind of went downhill after the first episode, but I caught up the other day and the last half of the season wasn't too bad at all.

Also, I watched the first episode of So You Think You Can Dance, because my nights are going to be so empty that I need a new show. And I can't dance my way out of a paper bag, so watching other people do it well makes me a little giddy. I watched it on my computer, and it was minimized about half the time because I could not stand to watch some of the people humiliate themselves. SO BAD.

So what's the deal with everyone being grumpy all at once? Seems like it never fails, if one person on my flist had a bad day/week, so did everyone else, and then so did I. Is this like a menstrual thing where we all sync up? Or a psychological thing? Or because it's cold and dreary out for a lot of people? What is going on, and plz to be making it stop. We all deserve some bright, sunshine-y days.

re: SPN last night, I don't have a whole lot of thinky thoughts. I did, but then I forgot them, so maybe more on that later. Next week though HOMG. !!!

I've been watching a lot of British shows lately, and the operative phrase there is a lot. Whoever recommended The Mighty Boosh? You can probably ask for anything you want and I'd be obligated to do it. THAT SHOW IS BRILLIANT. Not only did I get hooked, but I made my siblings watch it and now they're both hooked. I kid you not, they have watched the entire first season at least three times, and the second and third almost as much. My sister ordered a multi-region DVD player just so she could buy the DVDs. (It didn't work, but that's another story.)

So then of course I had to go on a hunt for more Noel Fielding (not that I don't love Julian just as much, but Noel is SO PRETTY with his hair and his clothes and his tiny little self omg) and I discovered The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and wow. Noel Fielding/Russell Brand may be my new OTP. And Richard Ayoade, hot damn. I thought he was just the crazy shaman from TMB and the geeky guy from The IT Crowd, and then bam, he's the hot funny guy. :D

And The IT Crowd! And Roman's Empire! And Garth Marenghi's Darkplace! And I rewatched a little bit of Green Wing, and thought ok, well. I've been avoiding Doctor Who for long enough, if the British have created the genius comedy shows I've been watching, let's check out the drama.

I'm almost all the way through the second series of the new stuff, and yeah. It's good. It's definitely one of those things that I could see myself falling for hard and fast if I let myself, not least because I actually like the female character on it. Then again, I tend not to fall hard and fast for things I know I won't be involved in fandom for. I don't really know why. And the Doctor Who fandom, just from my limited outside perspective, seems large and loomy and terrifying. Which is the same kind of view I have on bandom, except less scary and more coated with glitter. I had a whole big thing written out about why I want to dive into bandom and why I'm terrified to. It will be re-composed another day, I'm sure.

This is such a surface post, I really want to just gush about how much I love The Mighty Boosh and how unfair it is that even if the live show does come to America, it probably won't come anywhere near me, and how I'm definitely contemplating writing Noel/Russell RPF but it could so easily go wrong. But I would gush for days. DAYS. And there is so much else I need to be doing. So. Instead, I leave you with the following pictures of Noel and Russell and their adorableness.

Oh, you guys. ♥ I wasn't around much yesterday but I checked my e-mail a few times, and the comments left on the Holiday love meme? Kind of made my whole life. I love you guys pretty hard. And since I didn't get a chance to love on you all back before (good god!) the post reached maximum comments, you should all get over to the second part and drop your names so I can love on you. DO IT. You will be personally responsible for ruining Christmas if you don't. Yeah, you like that guilt trip? I know you do.

I have basically been OD'ing on David Anders the past few days, which, really, isn't a bad way to go. I managed to rope my brother and sister into re-watching Alias with me, so they're totally head over heels not only for the show but for Sark (we're still only halfway through the second season, and I have only vaguely hinted that the rest of the seasons don't quite meet expectations, I am not looking forward to seeing their little faces go from psyched to disappointed like mine did.) And Allen has been watching Heroes with me, and we just started the second season. Plus I got Left In Darkness from Netflix. It's cheesy and terrible, and I'll totally admit I'm teetering on the verge of pathetic (do not even tell me if I've gone far, far over that edge, I need my delusions) for not only ordering it with the full knowledge it would be bad, but for asking for it for Christmas. Yeah. Yeah, I did that.

So, ok, I don't talk about my family much here because really, they're like the family Jerry Springer would have wet himself to get on his show and that's kind of embarrassing, but this is too good not to share.

My dad apparently has a true.com account. Yeah, he's still married to my mom, and yeah, it's a dating site. So my mom's all upset, understandably, but like, ok, in my family, when my dad does something fully stupid and lame, it's funny, and we hope that this will be the time he gets sent to prison/moves away for good/disappears. You know. Anyway, so, my mom gets in on the fun and figures out my dad's password. I'm pretty sure his profile now reads that he's fat and bald and looking for a fat, bald woman who is Hindu and speaks Japanese, and that his five kids live with him but if she has any kids, they're not welcome. Oh, family. Never Please stop.

Macros make everything better. The macros in this post are pretty amazing, especially the series at the end with Noah. :D I need good Lyle fic, anyone got links?
